Vector Blind
A downloadable game for Windows
VECTOR BLIND is a first-person horror prototype built around one rule: you are completely blind without your sonar.
Move through procedurally generated labyrinths in total darkness. A rotating sonar sweep briefly illuminates walls in green wireframe as it passes — the only way to perceive the world around you. Tap Space for a manual ping that reveals a wider radius. Both actions make noise.
The monster doesn't need light. It navigates by sound.
Every scan is a gamble. Every step is heard. Battery is limited.
Mechanics
· Sonar sweep continuously rotates, revealing nearby walls
· Manual ping (Space) — high brightness, high noise, full radius
· Battery drain — run out and you go completely blind
· Monster tracks sound signatures, not line of sight
· Environmental traps — spark cables, steam pipes, falling vents
Prototype — what this build is and isn't.
This release is a rough proof-of-concept put together quickly to test one core idea: does sonar as your only sense make a horror game feel different? The answer shaped everything that comes next.
This build does not represent the final game. It exists to demonstrate the sonar mechanic and gather feedback before committing to a full development direction. Content is minimal, levels are short, and polish is limited — by design.
If the core loop resonates with you, that's exactly the signal we're looking for.
Full release will expand on a completely new structure built around what works here.
